We aim to use music as a means of binding St. James’s into the community which it serves. I first came across the church through a Lighthouse promotion here last Easter, and I was pleased to take part in the Lighthouse Arts Centre Open Day last weekend.
I shall be collaborating with Lighthouse as follows: |

| |
| Thursday February 11th 2010 |
7.30pm |
My group 'THE WORKS' presents Undercover Opera, with music by Mozart and my new radio-opera Pugwash walks the plank.
| Easter Monday, April 5th 2010 |
6.30pm |
I shall conduct the Bournemouth Symphony Chorus and THE WORKS Baroque Orchestra here in St. James’s Church in Hallelujah Mr. Handel, a programme of joyful choral music and the famous Water Music, with the thrilling sounds of Baroque Brass.
For tickets for Lighthouse events, ring 0844 406 8666.
| 8th, 9th and 10th April 2010 |
I’m very pleased to say that I shall be directing the music for the Poole Passion, a community play that will start here in St. James’s and process to Skinner Street.
Keep an eye open for the posters that tell you how to take part in your community’s own drama. |
