"Looking to the Future – Building on the Past"
Would you like your children to join a new choir?
Learn to sing, learn to read music?
Do you – or your children – play an instrument?
Music ClubSunday Mornings at 10.00 am
This is for young people who play an instrument and for younger children who like to sing.
We rehearse for 45 minutes, break for a drink and biscuits and then play and sing in the first part of the service.
For the middle part, players go to a separate room for a musical session with Professor Norris and younger children join in with the Sunday School.
We all return to the service for the Grand Finale!
Music Club supports the church’s Music Group, which rehearses on Mondays from 6.00 pm until 7.00 pm and plays at the Sunday Morning Services.
Adult instrumentalists are very welcome to join us.

5.00 pm Boys’ Choir Practice (finishes at 5.45 pm) |
These new choirs are for young singers old enough to read fluently. They’ll sing a wide range of enjoyable songs and learn to read music. They’ll practice every week, and sing at one Evening Service every month, as well as at special occasions like the Service of the Sea and the Candle-lit Carol Service. As the Treble Choirs establish themselves, they will be able to sing as far afield as Poole’s twin town, Cherbourg, as well as making trips to sing in Dorset and Hampshire.
The Jolliffe Trust
The Trust is administered by the Rector of St.James’s, and makes grants to young musicians resident in the Borough of Poole. Eight grants are awarded at the moment, each of hundreds of pounds. They are to be spent on music lessons.
To enquire about any of these musical opportunities, please contact David on info@davidowennorris.com or by calling him on 01264 355 409.
We very much hope you can support us. |
